MUST HAVE PICKS FOR BABY!

January 3, 2018

Now that I'm on to baby #3,  I'm realizing how much CRAP I had for Cannen and Harvin that I never even used or needed!

Here are the things that I have purchased for baby #3 that I know I will actually use/need and believe that make life with baby so much easier!

1 //  GOOD ORGANIC COTTON BURP CLOTHS

{Bonus:: These come in packs of 5 for $22-- so they're an AMAZING deal too!}

A lot of y'all may have seen my IG story on these.  You may think "I can get burp cloths anywhere" and that is true.  BUT, you learn as a momma that SO MANY burp cloths out there are pure crap.  They aren't absorbent so they just stay wet and gross, they aren't soft, they get more rough the more you wash them, they stain easily... etc.

These burp cloths are the BEST.  They are made with 2 thick layers of organic cotton and an absorbent kind of fleece in the middle to absorb.  They are SO SOFT, SO absorbent, and just amazing.  And the prints are so fricken cute!!!  These are the kind of burpers you won't be ashamed to pull out your diaper bag.

2 // LALABU BABYWEARING SOOTHE SHIRT

In short, this turns you into a kangaroo. lol!  But I am SO EXCITEDDDDD about this when baby comes!  It's a super soft tank top with an expandable pouch sewn right in to put baby in! Goodbye annoying, difficult wraps and carriers!

It has a head support that flips up to support baby's head and the fabric is thick and warm and sturdy so that baby is super stable and snug in there.  It's ALSO a built in nursing bra!  So there are 2 layers of fabric and one pops up to make breastfeeding super easy!  I just love that this promotes baby-momma bonding and makes it so easy!

Note: these run pretty snug so I'd say to size up!  I got Mediums.  It comes in Black or Charcoal Heather Gray!  I got black because it's slimming and it'll match/be easy to pair with anything!

3 // THESE SWADDLES

I have started to see celebrities and other bloggers and so many others talking about these swaddles, and judging from the reviews, apparently they truly are a baby-sleeping secret!   They come in gray, blue, pink, and mint green and come in multiple sizes!  I got the gray one and will probably order the pink to have another on hand!

4 // WUBBANUBS

These don't really need explanation-- they are the best pacifiers, you don't lose them because they're big and attached to the animal, and babies snuggle them and just love them.  They also weigh the pacifier down a bit so that baby doesn't spit it out/lose it as easily!  Harvey used these til she turned 2 and we had the same ones for 2 years- only had a buy a couple extra!  As opposed to other pacifiers which get lost and you end up buying a ton!

These are usually $16-$20 depending on where you buy them but I found two super cute ones for $13!

5 // GOOD BABY GOWNS

Ditch the pajamas.  You won't want or need them for atleast the first month.  All my babies LIVED in gowns for the first while because you think you know how many diapers you're going to change... but you have no idea.  It's ABSOLUTELY insane the amount of diapers in a day and snapping jammies after every change is just ridiculous-- especially in the middle of the night!

There are a lot of brands of gowns but the Gerber ones, Little Me, Walmart brand, etc. are so bad.  They are scratchy and fit awkwardly.  The more you wash them they get weird discoloration and look worn and ugly.  So just a heads up on those!

These Burts Bee's gowns are the best.  They're organic cotton, SO soft and comfy, and are bleachable so baby can't stain them!  They also come with little hats and I meaaaannnn... how cute!

6 // ROCK'N'PLAY

If you have any friends who've ever had a baby, then you already know this one.  It is literally my TOP answer for things you actually NEED for baby.  If somehow you don't know about the wonders of a rock'n'play, message me on IG or something!

p.s. Amazon has one on sale for $48! (elsewhere/usually $60!)

7 // HONEST HEALING BALM

Okay, but seriously- you'll use this from day One to day 1,000.  I still use this on my kids for literally ANYTHING.

As infants, the first few weeks of poop can give them some diaper rash and this is SO gentle and relieving and WAY, WAY better than Desitin and normal diaper creams which are just made of Zinc and don't let babies skin breathe and can make things worse.  I also used this for dry skin on their faces, under their chub rolls, ANY kind of redness or irritation-- this stuff took it away quick.

Nowadays I use it for the same things! Dry skin on my 5 year old, chapped lips, little scrapes- this stuff is GOLD.

8 // FACE, HAND, NOSE WIPES

These aren't an exciting purchase but I found them SO necessary!  I discovered these a tad late but I will now always have them on hand.

I would always just use regular baby wipes when we were out an about to clean up baby after spit up or throw up or whatever.  Regular baby wipes have soap in them though so you're really not supposed to use them on babys face or other more sensitive areas because they dry the skin out really bad.  These are awesome because I could basically "bathe" Harvey with them and wipe her down in all her neck rolls, face, etc. and they are gentle and actually cleaned it up (and left her smelling so good).  Much better than a baby wipe for cleaning baby on the go!

9 // THESE MUSLIN BLANKETS

These are obvious necessities and muslin blankets are by far the best for snuggling baby.  They are the only blankets that get softer as you wash them and are the best bc they're not bulky!

These ones are gender neutral and SO cute and I found them for $14 for the 3-pack!  (Compared to Aden and Anais or other brands that are $30 for a 3-pack!)  I was nervous to get them but they're actually SO soft and cute!

OTHER THINGS:

VIDEO BABY MONITOR

THIS is the one we have!  You've probably heard of it, it's got the best reviews and tons of people use it!)

GAS DROPS

(Your baby will need them from day one of breast feeding or bottle feeding.  Their little digestive systems are still learning and they get gas pain BAD, even if theyve been burped.  It will keep you up all night but these drops are safe for them from day one and relieve it SO well!)

BOTTLES

(we used Dr Browns for Harvey and loved them!  Will use them again this go around!)

CARSEAT

(We have the Nuna Pipa and I'm obsessed.  Truly believe it's the easiest, best carseat out there and it has way higher safety ratings over other brands.)

BABY BATH

(We have this one!)

BABY WASH

(We use this one and I've been using it for the last couple years.  Nothing beats it in my opinion and my kids have super sensitive, dry skin.  This helps that and is just so gentle!  (and I found it in a 2-pack for $11 for y'all which is an AMAZING deal!)

We also use the matching lotion for after the bath.)
